Wear Blue for Charlie
PLEASE TAKE JUST 5 MINUTES OUT OF YOUR DAY TO WATCH OUR VIDEO UNFOLD…
We are a charity that was created in honor of one very special and truly courageous little boy ‘Charlie Cookson’ who sadly lost his battle in October 2013 to an undiagnosed illness at the tender age of two and a half. Our foundation has recently celebrated its one-year anniversary and continues to grow from strength to strength.
We understand how difficult life can become when you have had to reduce your working hours or in fact leave your employment, as your child requires 24-hour care. We aim to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by parents, and carers who care for seriously ill children, and campaign to improve the quality of life of sick and seriously ill children, working with professionals to play an active part in the design and development of services to ensure the needs of parents, carers and children are heard and considered. So far, we have been honored to support 16 very brave and inspiring families.
This year, in honor of our inspirational little angel, we were able to mark Charlie’s special day (his 4th Birthday) through holding a very special ‘Charlie Day’ where all businesses, schools, organisations and many individuals participated paying just £1 to ‘Wear blue for Charlie’. Due to the popular demand of this special occasion and being the Easter Holidays where all schools were closed, we had to extend this event over a period of one month from 29th March 2015 – 30th April 2015.
This momentous event helped us raise an incredible £1,110.18p for the inspirational families we support and has allowed us to relief these inspiring families of the great financial pressures they feel when caring for their seriously ill child.
We are still so overwhelmed by all the incredible support we received and all the amazing pictures that were shared with us of everyone wearing their blue colours for Charlie.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR EVER VALUED SUPPORT!!!
