The Charlie Cookson Foundation

Thank you Supporters

Huge thank you to each and every supporter who has so kindly donated to us here at the Charlie Cookson Foundation in some way throughout the month of May.

All your contributions no matter how big or small have collectively helped us raise an incredible £1,295.33p!!!

By supporting our unique foundation you are helping us to help more families just like Evie’s family below who care for their beloved daughter 24/7 due to the life limiting condition she is suffering.

Evie May Appleyard is the daughter of our 33rd CCF Family. Evie is almost 3 years old and lives with her parents Christine and Mark in Stockport. From the moment their little girl came into their lives they have been on a roller coaster of heartbreak, fear and worry. Their perfect plan was after her maternity Christine would return to work as a Primary School Teacher whilst Mark would continue to work as an Accountant…the perfect plan did not happen and now her parents are unable to work due to Evie’s condition.

CCF look at the lifeline of the sick children – their parent/parents.  We understand that the sick child has a greater success rate of survival if they have the one to one around the clock care from their parents. BUT what if the parents are unable to care for their sick child as they have to go to work or they will lose their home, or they are unable to care for them as they are suffering a breakdown due to the financial strain they are under. The outcome of this is THE CHILD WILL SUFFER. CCF relieve these inspirational parents of their financial burdens to allow them to take care of their sick child and make precious memories in what short life they have together.

Evie’s Mammy said…“The Charlie Cookson Foundation have been an enormous help to us.  No parent should have to hear the news that your child may not have long to live, it is truly devastating.  CCF have enabled me to be a full time carer for our little girl and for Mark to take a career break to help us make some amazing memories and not to have to worry about paying the bills. We can’t thank them enough.”

Please continue to support families like Evie’s this year.
