The Charlie Cookson Foundation (CCF) and Perth Green Community Association teamed up to host a Christmas party for youngsters.
The Foundation, which raises cash for youngsters with life-limiting conditions, bases its “Charlie’s Shop” at the association in Inverness Road, Jarrow, and sells pre-loved items to raise funds.
Sarah Cookson, who launched CCF in honour of her son Charlie, who passed away from a mystery medical condition in October 2013 aged two, described the event as “heart warming”.
She said: “What better way than a Christmas celebration together to help us raise funds to financially support the parents of seriously ill children, and for Perth Green to raise vital funds to keep their centre open.
“To have two local charities come together at this time of year especially is just so heart warming.”
Sainsbury’s, which made CCF one of its chosen charities of the year – and sold merchandise from its branches at the Nook and in Simonside – provided 75 selection boxes for youngsters.
Ever Ever After Parties also paid a special visit with Elsa and Anna from the popular Disney cartoon Frozen.
Huge thank you to all who attended ths magical event and helped us bring some Christmas spirit to many families caring for children with life limiting conditions.
Much Love to you all xxxxxx
