We would like to say massive good luck to Andy Robertson who is doing the Dead Water Ultra Challenge this weekend !!
Clearly last years 120 mile ultra marathon was just not enough for this man, he is now taking part in the Dead Water Ultra Challenge !
Deadwater begins on the Scotland / England border and ends at Chester castle on the Welsh Border. It’s a journey of 235 miles and 27,000 feet of elevation over 6 days. This is a self sufficient race and Andy will be responsible for carrying his own food, clothing, safety equipment, sleeping system with water being topped up every 10 miles or so. He will have no support teams no, family members, everything he needs will be on his back, the organisers will provide a tent with hot and cold water at the end of each stage that’s it !!
This is what Andy has ahead of him ………..
Day 1- The forest – 31 miles – 3497 ft
Day 2- The pennine way – 36 miles – 5158 ft
Day 3 – The wild boar – 44 miles – 5526 ft
Day 4 – The long Stage – 60 miles – 9030 ft
Day 5 – Canal hell – 32 miles – 1325 ft
Day 6 – Rush to the castle – 32 miles – 1913 ft.
I am sure you all agree that this is some challenge !!!!
